    Historic Dodgertown continues to be a training base for championship teams

    SK Wyverns win the 2018 Korean Series and are the champions of South Korean baseball; team set to return in 2019

    The SK Wyverns of the professional Korea Baseball Organization, a team which has held spring training at Historic Dodgertown for seven seasons, claimed the South Korean baseball championship today, its first championship since 2010.

    NABA Florida World Series taking place at Historic Dodgertown

    Teams from across the country competing for title, including a Florida team with the Flutie brothers on the roster

    More than 250 business professionals have turned in their business suits and suited up for the National Adult Baseball Association (NABA) Florida World Series, currently being held at Historic Dodgertown.

    NABA is one of the fastest growing adult baseball organizations in America. Nationally, 68,000 participants play in 85 leagues, with 14 tournaments held each year. NABA teams are organized into eight age divisions, providing a competitive environment for all the participants.

    Watching the World Series? Look for these ties to Vero Beach in the Fall Classic

    Vero Beach residents tuning in to watch the 2018 World Series may recognize some familiar names and faces.

    Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, outfielder Matt Kemp and All-Star pitcher Clayton Kershaw all spent time in Vero Beach, when the Dodgers held Spring Training at Dodgertown – Vero Beach.

    Roberts played for the Dodgers during the 2002 to 2004 seasons.

    Honeycutt pitched for the Dodgers from 1983 to 1987, then following his playing career was named the Dodgers pitching coach in 2006.

    Chinese National Fastpitch Softball Team Returns to Historic Dodgertown

    Historic Dodgertown is pleased to welcome the Chinese National Women’s Fastpitch Softball Team, the Beijing Eagles, as they train for their 2019 season. This is the third extended-stay training season at Historic Dodgertown since the team was established in May 2017.

    The Eagles trained at Historic Dodgertown this past spring and last fall in preparation for their regular season in the National Pro Fastpitch League (NPF) and for international competition. The team’s long-term goal is to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games.

    Celebrating the birthdate of Walter O'Malley

    Today, we remember Walter O’Malley, who was owner of the Dodgers from 1944-1979, on the 115th Anniversary of his October 9 birth in the Bronx, New York. O’Malley was named President of the Dodgers on October 26, 1950 and proceeded to oversee a first-class organization that won World Championships in 1955, 1959, 1963 and 1965, along with National League Pennants in 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, 1959, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1974, 1977 and 1978.

    He set the gold standard for baseball franchises of the 20th Century and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in ceremonies held in Cooperstown, New York on Sunday, July 27, 2008.

    Happy 91st birthday, Tommy Lasorda!

    Historic Dodgertown celebrates today, September 22nd, as the birthday of Tommy Lasorda, the Hall of Fame Dodger manager who managed the team from 1977 to 1996 with two World Championships.

    Remembering Ted Williams on the anniversary of his birthdate

    Today, we remember Baseball Hall of Famer Ted Williams, considered one of the greatest players in baseball history, on this the 100th Anniversary of his birth. Known as “The Splendid Splinter,” the 19-time American League All-Star played 19 seasons with the Boston Red Sox.

    Williams visited Dodgertown, Vero Beach, Florida as Manager of the Washington Senators each spring from 1969-1971 and as a guest. His last appearance was on March 3, 2000.

    Historic Dodgertown looks forward to annual Labor Day Beach Bash youth tournament

    Historic Dodgertown’s Labor Day Beach Bash youth tournament to welcome more than 55 teams with their families, from across the state and Georgia

    Vero Beach and the surrounding region can look forward to welcoming a large number of enthusiastic visitors this weekend. Historic Dodgertown, Indian River County and the Treasure Coast Sports Commission are hosting the annual Labor Day Beach Bash youth baseball tournament, and with more than 55 teams registered from across the state and Georgia, Vero Beach will see more than 1,800 visitors just for the holiday weekend, including the players, coaches and families....
